Blog 4: Steampunk
I think that steampunk, the 19th century, and science/technology go hand in hand because some of the inventions that were shown in the steampunk images serve as a sort of inspiration for modern inventions such as a motorcycle, computer, guns, etc. I wasn't aware of how much steampunk had an influence on the 19th century. Below is the image from the 19th century that was part of the steampunk era. One could say that this would serve as the inspiration for computers in the modern world today. After reading the piece on "The League of Extraordinary Black People: African and African American Steampunk" I wasn't aware of how much steampunk was influencing the inventions let alone the number of black authors that were so intrigued by it.
