After reading through all of the stories presented in part b of the unit, I decided to focus most of my attention on the last story called the Bald Wife. The Bald Wife is about a man with two wives (which is kinda similar to the first story i read with the king and seven wives but this is different because in this story he had a younger wife and an elder wife. The younger wife had lots and lots of hair and the elder wife had only a strand of hair. The younger wife then became ridden with lice and asked the elder wife to help her get rid of the lice and she accidentally takes off a portion of the younger wife's hair. this incident then sends them into a journey to a forest where they come across some sort of fountain of youth which then transforms the elder wife from an old hag into a beautiful younger woman which in turn makes the younger wife jealous of her new found beauty. If i were to re-write this story, I would approach it using a different scenario. Maybe still keep the same plot but twist it in a sense that instead of the fountain of youth maybe the elder wife in my story could have had an older gift perhaps a car that is remotely broken down into pieces and the younger wife received the best car that was on the market and the elder wife wrecks that car and gives her old car to the younger wife to have while she receives a new car. I love the shift in the stories between the two characters because when you first start reading the story, the reader would assume that the elder wife was jealous of the younger wife and her hair and is assumed that she would be the antagonist but then an accident in the story then shows her transitioning into the protagonist and the younger wife becoming the antagonist. Jealousy is the main topic of the story and if i wanted to continue the angle then I will have to do so using these three characters and maybe give the character of the man a significant role in my story so that it can perfectly balance out who is truly the envious wife.
