Storybook Favorites

Witches of Oz
I chose this storybook because while reading about it i felt like this was some sort of a spin off from the Wizard of Oz. I like the tone of the story because it depicts witches in a delightful and welcoming manner in particularly Princess Ozma. I feel like if i were to further go into reading the story that i would enjoy the part where they talk about the feast because she is inviting from witches from every direction to her castle to share stories. Also the image in the story depicting Ozma befriending Dorothy shows that Dorothy does not know what kind of evil could possibly lie ahead of her if she were to get involved with Ozma.

Bedtime Stories

The second storybook i chose dealt with bedtime stories. As a kid, i was not fortunate enough to experience being read a bedtime story before bed so i decided to check out this storybook so that when i grow older and have children of my own i would at least have the chance to read them stories before bed. It contained 4 stories and i found the theme to be a little dark in the first two stories rather than the remaining two. I really was intrigued by the last story of Pygmalion because it perfectly mirrors human emotions when a person gets intimate with another person who ends up disappointing them in the long run.

Ghost Stories of OU

The final story that i chose is Ghost Stories of OU. I was intrigued because some of these places listed such as Bizzell and Cate Center are places that i have studied at well during the night hours and have no idea that they are haunted so reading the story about the girl who had fallen through glass flooring is pretty crazy. I have heard of a certain room prior that is haunted but i did not suspect the great reading room to be haunted. I would like to delve more into the summer camp story of Cate because i find myself questioning if this really happened or not. Overall, this is an interesting and informative topic because this reminded me that i will need to avoid certain places to study at night.
