Reading Notes: The Gospel of Mark Part A

For my story this week, I chose to view the story of Jesus the Healer in the Gospel of Mark. I wanted to do a story of which i was somewhat familiar with since this story is in the Bible and the story i chose behind it uplifts people and assures them that everything will be alright in life even when things are not looking too good. In the story, Jesus heals a man that was possessed by demons and once people began to realize the power of Jesus they began to bring others who are near death's door or stricken with illness or injury to Jesus for him to lay hands on them. It was an interesting read because it reminds me of what i learned back in Sunday School in church. The part i enjoyed the most about the story was in the middle where i read about a woman who had blood issues for 12 years and had been to every physician around town who could do absolutely nothing for her so she came to Jesus and he healed her instantly.
The story had began to make me think about some experiences in which people who were sick or told that they cannot do anything end up becoming healed or achieving success that was not attainable. The Gospel of Mark is very complex as it breaks down stories such as this one and the Death of John the Baptist. There are so many unique stories that are written in this gospel and the fact that a person can choose one of them and it happens to be from a book that is accessible in your home instead of going out there and finding it.
